Default data base dialog box

Default data base dialog box

This dialog box is used to set up a pit pipe and overflow route data base for a new DRAINS model.  When selected from the Project menu, it allows you to choose a pit data base from those that are stored in the C:\Program Files\Drains\Program or the C:\Program Files (x86)\Drains\Program folder as .db1 files. Usually, there will be a number of these files with regional pit information.  You can add to these or split them into smaller collections, or create your own files with special information.

The file Drains.db1, located in the folder C:\Programdata\Drains, is the default file that is opened with new projects. It is ignored when you open an existing DRAINS model stored on a .drn file, as this includes its own data base for pipes, pipes and overflow routes.

When you select a data base from the above dialog box, it overwrites the selected database file onto Drains.db1.

There is an alternative means of entering data bases, using the Import   DRAINS Database (DB1) File option in the File menu.
