Overflow route property sheet

Overflow route property sheet

This is used to define the hydraulic characteristics of the flow paths along which overflows from pits, headwalls and detention basins may flow. It takes different forms depending on the type of node from which the route comes, and on the options enabled by the license being used.

There are three forms of overflow route property sheets that apply under different circumstances.

      (a)   Overflow routes from pits,

      (b)   Overflow routes from a detention basin or headwall,

      (c)   Overflow routes from a RAFTS storage routing node.

Overflow routes from pits, headwalls and detention basins can also be modelled as a weir object when using the Full Unsteady hydraulic model.

Usually overflow routes will be single links, but multiple routes can be joined together using nodes. Routes with different cross-sections and roughness characteristics can be modelled in this way. Overflow routes meeting at a node can be joined into a single overflow route. Users with the Full Unsteady hydraulic model can model multiple routes out of a pit, headwall or basin, representing flows leaving the node at various levels.
