On-site stormwater detention (OSD)

On-site stormwater detention (OSD)

This is the practice of providing storage devices within properties, with the aim of counteracting the hydrological effects of urbanisation from the increase in impervious surfaces. Storages are usually small and can consist of underground tanks or surface storages in areas such as gardens and car parking areas.

DRAINS provides facilities for dealing with OSD systems, based on the wide use of these devices in the Sydney Metropolitan area. High early discharge pits can be modelled.
