Importing data tables from a spreadsheet

Rainfall hyetographs and stream flow hydrographs can be imported into DRAINS via the Windows Clipboard using the following procedure:

      (a) Set up the data in a table of values, with the times of the start of each period in one column, and the rainfall intensities or flow values in the second, as shown below, in the DRAINS Utility Spreadsheet:


Time intervals must be the same throughout.

      (b) Highlight the numbers in the table, as shown, and copy this to the Clipboard using the Edit -> Copy option.

      (c) Within the DRAINS Rainfall Data property sheet, select Add a New Storm,

      (d) Press the <- Paste button to enter the pattern.

 

This procedure can be applied in the Rainfall Data property sheet, the Inflow Hydrograph property sheet and the Pit Data Base property sheet.
