Exporting DXF files

Exporting DXF files

You can create a DXF file containing a plan of pipes and pits from the File menu. In the DXF files produced by DRAINS, pipes are represented by lines and nodes are represented by circles. These can be on different layers if you wish. One text value can be written for pipes (name, diameter, length, maximum flow or nothing), and one text value can be written for pits (name, maximum HGL or nothing). If you need more than one text value you can write a second DXF file and later merge them in your CAD program. You also have the choice of showing different diameter pipes on different layers.

The pipes will be shown on a layer named PIPES or, if you request different diameters on different layers, they will be on layers named PIPES300, PIPES450, etc. The pits will be on a layer named PITS, nodes on a layer named NODES and channels on a layer named CHANNELS.
