Copy Shape

Copy Shape

DRAINS has facilities for copying an object - a sub-catchment, pit, channel, etc., and pasting this in the Main Window. This can be useful when setting up systems where components have repeating characteristics, such as inlet capacity relationships. The copied component will include the information from the original one, but will have a different name that can be changed as required.

You will need to right-click your mouse on the component to be copied to display a pop-up menu.  The second item on this will be Copy Shape. When this is clicked, the information for the object is stored.

You then need to right-click on the location where you want the copied component to appear. A grey bar labelled Paste Shape will appear.

Clicking on this places the component in the Main Window.  This pasting process can be continued for as many times as required.
