ARR87 rainfall pattern dialog box
This window is used to enter rainfall storm burst patterns taken from the manual Australian Rainfall and Runoff (1987).

You need to enter:
the zone of Australia, as shown in Figure 3.2 of Australian Rainfall and Runoff (1987),
the duration of the rainfall pattern,
the average recurrence interval, and
the rainfall intensity corresponding to the given duration and average recurrence interval.
The durations are limited to the 21 values for which patterns are available in Australian Rainfall and Runoff, ranging from 5 minutes to 72 hours.
Recurrence intervals can only be selected as the standard values in Australian Rainfall and Runoff: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 years.
The intensity can be entered directly from intensity-frequency-duration (I-F-D) information available for particular locations from the Bureau of Meteorology or the drainage sections of local councils. It can also be calculated using the procedure from Australian Rainfall and Runoff (1987) Volume 2. Pressing the IFD Data button brings up the IFD Data property sheet. Once this is entered and you return to the Select a pattern from Australian Rainfall and Runoff dialog box, pressing the arrow next to the intensity will cause the required intensity to be calculated.
Once you enter the data and click the OK button, the pattern is calculated and appears in the Rainfall Data property sheet.
